About
'Nathan is the owner and architect at Westhaven Architects. His firm works on projects nationwide, but his primary reason for joining the Chamber is to become more connected locally in the Fox Valley. One week prior to joining, he also joined the Geneva Chamber, which aligns well with our regional overlap and referral ecosystem across St. Charles, Geneva, and Batavia. Westhaven specializes primarily in residential architecture, including kitchen renovations, single family homes, multi family projects, and some developer driven work. He does not currently do a large volume of commercial projects but is open to them. His ideal client is a homeowner or developer with a clear budget and defined goals. He prioritizes early budget and goal alignment because many homeowners are unsure of scope or spend, and he wants to ensure a strong fit from the start. Nathan is especially interested in working with more developers because they bring repeat and bulk projects, which are more profitable and scalable for a smaller firm. He has significant experience with rezoning parcels and is well versed in Low Income Housing Tax Credit regulations, which positions him well for development focused opportunities. We discussed Chamber involvement with a strong emphasis on strategy over volume. Positioning focused on credibility, referral partnerships, and platforms to demonstrate expertise rather than attending a high number of events. Nathan expressed interest but may be overwhelmed by the breadth of offerings, so the approach is intentional and selective engagement. Best next step recommendation is the Commercial Development Group. CDG functions as a relationship driven roundtable for professionals involved in local commercial and development projects, offering discussion around current and future opportunities, challenges, and industry insights. This group aligns closely with Nathan?s experience, interests, and time constraints. We discussed LEAD$ groups, but since Nathan is already participating in a Geneva Chamber leads group, adding a second group was not recommended at this time. Networking opportunities suggested include Business After Hours, Morning Connections, as low pressure ways to begin plugging into the local business community. Also noted interest in the Chamber Golf Outing on August 7, as Nathan is a golfer and this event aligns well with relationship building. Overall goal is to help Nathan build local credibility, connect with developers and referral partners, and engage in high value opportunities that respect time as a business owner.'
