CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS
Ali previously belonged to the Chamber through a prior role and has a strong understanding of Chamber value. Member of the Friday LEAD$ group and know Rose Canfield well. Also has worked with Jim DiChala in the past. Primary goals for joining include spreading awareness of their mission, increasing education/advocacy efforts, and rebuilding relationships and immersion within the community. Mission/Story Ali and her co-founder both have children with limb differences, which is a key driver behind their passion for this work. They focus heavily on education and awareness, especially for parents who may be surprised at birth due to the fact that limb differences are not always detected in prenatal scans (Ali indicated about a 50% detection rate). Programs/Services ?Hug in a Box? program: care package and support resources for new parents whose child is born with a limb difference, particularly helpful when parents are caught off guard at birth. Challenges / Needs Primary challenge is funding. Organization is brand new and currently focused on building donors and cultivating funding sources. Ali is also seeking a CPA who specializes in nonprofits. Power Partners / Referral Targets Hospitals and medical clinics identified as key power partners and referral sources. Engagement / Chamber Opportunities Ali already registered for the Non-Profit Quarterly Idea Exchange. Discussed potential participation in the Non-Profit Mastermind group; plan to connect Ali with Dawn (committee chair) for next steps.
LDCF is a community-driven 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to advocacy, education, and direct support for individuals with limb differences and their families.
